Poll: National populist Vlaams Belang largest party in Belgium
A fresh poll has revealed that the national populist Vlaams Belang (Flemish Interest) party is now the most popular party in Belgium.
According to the latest opinion poll from Belgian media, if national elections were held today, the right-wing populist party would garner 24.9 percent of the vote, making it the largest party of Belgium, HLN reports.
The second-largest party, with 22.7 percent of the vote, was the conservative New Flemish Alliance party, followed by the Open Vld party with 13.3 percent of the vote. The centrist CD&V and the leftist Green party each garnered about 11 percent
