Slovenia to construct a border fence along its southern border
According to new reports, Slovenia is constructing a new border fence as illegal immigration into Europe’s Schengen zone continues to be a problem for security forces.
Work on the fence has already begun along the River Kolpa – a natural barrier separating Slovenia from its Balkan neighbor Croatia.
“Last month the government signed a contract with a Serbian firm Legi-SGS to put up 40 kilometers (25 miles) of fence on the border with Croatia. Once that section is completed, the total length of fence will be 219 kilometers and cover almost a third of the Slovenian border with Croatia,” Reuters
