French migrant transport NGO collects another 81 North African migrants
Over the weekend, French NGO SOS Mediterranee’s partnered with Doctors Without Borders picked up 81 more migrants off the coast of Libya. The 81 new migrants join 130 others who were already aboard the Ocean Viking.
According to reports, most of the newly collected migrants are military-aged Sudanese men who left Libya on Saturday in a blue rubber dinghy.
Doctors Without Borders, which registers the migrants on board the vessel, said over the weekend that four-fifths of the latest group of migrants to be picked up were aged between 18 and 34, while 17 percent were under 18.
