Italy wants to avoid EU infringement procedure – Deputy PM
The European Commission rejected Rome’s budget plan for 2019 demanding they submit a new draft asserting that Italy running a deficit of 2.4 per cent of GDP breaks EU rules.
Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has said the expansive budget is necessary to finance key pledges and to boost growth.
